Labor leadership: Anthony Albanese expresses desire to replace Bill Shorten
Senior Labor MP Anthony Albanese, who lost the 2013 leadership bid against Bill Shorten to be the party leader, has officially announced his decision to contest the position after the party's "devastating" loss against the Coalition government. However, deputy leader Tanya Plibersek and Chris Bowen have also expressed interest in the position but have not confirmed their intention yet.
