The 2019 federal budget will be announced later tonight. It's been brought forward a month to make way for a May election, and will focus on policies the government hopes will win votes. To get a sense of what working-class voters will be looking for in the budget, SBS visited the marginal Sydney seat of Lindsay, where Labor MP Emma Husar is stepping down, making way for a tight battle between two new candidates.


Young families in the electorate say the major parties’ policies on income taxes, and day-to-day costs will be key to winning support from swing voters.
