Census 2021: Not participating could lead to a hefty fine

August 10 is the Census night when a national count of everyone present in Australia and all homes in the country will be taken. Five years ago, the census website had to be shut down on the 2016 Census night due to cyberattacks to protect the data. In this episode of Settlement Guide, we are speaking to the General Manager of the Census Division at the ABS about the new census system, data security and more. Under the Census and Statistics Act 1905, it’s mandatory to complete the Census and not participating could lead to a hefty fine.
