Half of the more than 700 battery operated three-wheelers public transport vehicles popularly known as "Safa Tempo" in Kathmandu have female drivers who are mostly single women and just literate. Although the Safa Tempo has helped many women become self-reliant, their lives are in danger due to the government's lack of attention to health care. Our Nepal correspondent Sewa Bhattarai reports that the lives of women involved in such businesses have become more difficult due to the coronavirus.
