Alan Tudge, the federal Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, has raised the possibility of forcing the migrants who get permanent residency through regional sponsorship visa to stay on in rural towns and cities that sponsored them. Are people really moving out to major cities like Sydney and Melbourne as soon as they get their permanent residency? Shambhu Kandel, a Darwin based immigration agent says stopping permanent residents from moving out of regional centres would be of no benefit and the idea only sounds like an election campaign. Kadel spoke to SBS Nepali.
