In an Australian state first, Voluntary Assisted Dying will be available in Victoria from June 19.
It's estimated up to 150 people will choose to end their lives through the program each year.

In February, the 54-year-old Troy Thornton choose to travel to Switzerland to access legal assisted dying.
His wife Christine Thornton was by his side. And she welcomes the rollout of assisted dying in Victoria.
"His decision was to be in control at the end. So have the right to choose to die with dignity. Instead of pretty much a vegetable is what he was looking at, in his terms that he would use."
