Wollongong resident Hemanta Acharya migrated to Australia in 2008 as a Bhutani refugee. An anaesthetic nurse by profession, she is involved in promoting Nepali culture and has also represented Australia internationally through sports. In occasion of Refugee Week 2024, Acharya spoke to SBS Nepali about her journey from Nepal's refugee camps to becoming a Les Murray Award nominee.
