The number of Nepali students coming to Australia for higher education has increased in recent years. According to data from the Australian Government’s Department of Education, more than 68,000 Nepali-speaking students were enrolled in Australia as of October 2025 - a rise of 4.4 per cent compared to the previous year. With the start of a new year and the next intake period approaching, what should students planning to come to Australia keep in mind? From language and finding work, to balancing study and employment, and adjusting to a new lifestyle, SBS Nepali spoke with students about the challenges they face and the advice they have for newcomers.
