Extreme heat is becoming more frequent and intense in Nepal, reflecting a global trend driven by climate change as described by experts. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology says temperatures have risen compared with previous years. Those hardest hit by this phenomenon are people who mostly work outdoors or in poorly ventilated workplaces.
