Diabetes awareness for Nepalis in Australia: 'We eat more for our taste than for our health'

Visiting Nepali parents say they were encouraged to learn that diabetes can be effectively managed through regular physical activity and healthy eating. A diabetes awareness program for the Nepali-speaking community was held in Sydney on Friday, 20 March, organised by Diabetes Australia and the NSW Federation of Community Language Schools Inc, with support from Multicultural New South Wales. SBS Nepali spoke with participants and organisers about the program and its outcomes.
