Ashish Bharati won a historic ‘first’ gold for Nepal at the 2025 Asia Pacific Motorsports Championship, held in Sri Lanka from September 26 to 28. Competing at the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit, Ashish Bharti secured first place in the men’s solo Auto Gymkhana category. Bharati told SBS Nepali that while motorsport is his passion, it remains an expensive pursuit and is yet to gain mainstream recognition in Nepal. Our Nepal correspondent, Prayas Dulal, spoke to Bharati about his decade-long journey on the tracks, the challenges he faced and his plans ahead.
