Thousands of Australians are joining international climate strike action on Friday, walking out of their workplaces, universities and schools.
In March of this year, 1.4 million people took part in what became known as "school strikes" to raise global awareness of the climate crisis.
Ahead of the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York (begins Mon 23), protesters will join millions across the world once again.
Students will lead a diverse crowd, having garnered support from all sectors of society, including business leaders, university groups and trade unions.
