People all over the world are trying to come to terms with the news of the sudden death of cricket legend Shane Warne. A suspected heart attack killed Warne while he was holidaying with friends in Thailand. The 52-year-old inspired millions on the pitch and was often in the limelight for his larrikin nature off the field.

The world remembers Shane Warne.

An Australian icon, not only in the sporting world, but off the pitch, where his cheeky, mischievous attitude created a legend.

Warne was found dead in his room at a villa in Koh Samui, Thailand, by one of his friends who reportedly tried to perform C-P-R.

He was then taken to hospital but couldn't be revived.

Thai police say a heart attack was the suspected cause of death and an autopsy will be carried out.

At the statue outside the ground he made his home, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, fans have created a makeshift shrine.

Those honouring Warne have left flowers, cans of beer, packets of cigarettes and even meat pies.
