Teen arrested in connection with Optus breach

A teenager has been charged over an alleged scam using information obtained from the Optus data breach. He is NOT suspected of being responsible for the cyber attack.


Almost two weeks after close to 10 million Optus customers were potentially exposed to a cyber hack, Australian Federal Police have made an arrest.

Assistant Commissioner Justine Gough from AFP Cyber Command says a 19-year-old Sydney man has been charged with allegedly conducting a scam USING obtained information from the breach.
