Prithvi Jayanti is celebrated every year on the 27th day of Poush to commemorate the birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who played an important role in unifying Nepal and shaping the nation's history. This day is not only celebrated in Nepal but also in some Australian Nepali communities. Various organisations and groups in Australia organise special events on this day.
