Each year, As part of the INDIGENOUS MARATHON PROJECT - 12 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people between aged between 18-30 are selected to train for the biggest marathon in the world in November, the NEW YORK CITY marathon.


NITv Radio's Kerri-Lee Barry caught up with Ellie White one of this year's runners representing the Indigenous Marathon Project in USA.

For First Nations Australian mob who take part in the IMP there is no prior running experience that is required.The marathon which was held on the weekend, is a big event for New York City community members for those who run and the countless big apple supporters who line the city streets to all - cheer the thousands of people taking part.
