48 year old Rupen Datta, the seventh member of the family involved in the fatal car crash in India, has also breathed his last at a hospital in India today. After losing his wife, three children, sister-in-law and father-in-law, Mr Datta passed away at a New Delhi hospital this morning.

It is believed that Rupen Datta never came out of the coma, ever since that horrific road accident two weeks ago. His wife, Anamika, 45, daughters Nikita and Pipasa, aged 12 and 15, and sister-in-law Sonia, were killed at the scene of the crash, as the family was driving for a visit to the Taj Mahal

The Dattas' 20 year old son, Tirvijay, died in hospital a short time after the accident.

It is believed that their car was travelling at a high speed on the Yamuna Expressway, when a tyre-burst caused it to smash through a road barrier and flip over on its roof.

Mr Datta's father-in-law, NK Paliwal had initially survived the crash, but later suffered a fatal heart attack in hospital upon the news of his family members' deaths.

The Dattas were residents of Adelaide, where they ran a popular Indian restaurant named "Urban India"
