Coach Sanjeet alias Sana Singh’s tactics turned into a triumph when the Victorian Under 15 All Nations team won the nail biting grand final by defeating Tasmania at the 2018 National Male Diversity Championships in Sydney on Thursday.
Over 300 young Indigenous and multicultural players representing all states and territories participated in the five day tournament in Blacktown.
The young 19-member squad coached by Mr Singh has players from diverse backgrounds including the promising Navdeep Singh who plays on the wing and across half back.
Speaking to SBS Punjabi, Mr Singh said tournaments like the Diversity Championships are the perfect chance for young players to pit themselves against the country’s best.

“My main aim was to train and mentor these young players. The win was just a bonus. In all, it was a great opportunity for the players some of whom I feel have the potential to represent Australia on the international front”-Sanjeet Singh
Mr Singh is also the Co-President and Coach at the ‘Bharat Football Club’ which was founded in September last year to spot, train and promote football players from India.
The Melbourne-based club boasts of training 40 Indian players and is now looking to boost its female participation in the sport which according to coach Sana is “the most exciting game in the world.”
