An Australia Post courier van was carjacked in Cranbourne East on Tuesday and the driver was thrown from the vehicle.
The young driver, first day at work, had just made the first delivery at a Cranbourne East home in South of Melbourne when his van was carjacked, 7 News reports.
The driver gave a chase and tried to get into the vehicle through the side door, but was thrown off the vehicle. He suffered minor injuries in the process and was seen by paramedics.
Patrick Zuel, a resident who heard the driver’s cries for help said he was “pretty shaken up”.
“I guess, he was also worried about his first day at work,” Patrick told 7 News.
The GPS tracking enabled courier van was traced in Nyora where its engine was remotely cut, forcing its occupants to abandon it and flee on foot.
Two males and a female were seen carrying parcels. They were later apprehended and taken to Narre Warren police station.
