Eyes welled up with tears and in a voice choked with sorrow, Bhupinder Kaur bid a final goodbye to her daughter Ravneet Kaur, who died in a tragic accident in Adelaide last week.
“You were my strength and inspiration; I will be a good grandma to your children. Will miss you, my child,” said Ms Kaur while reading out a tribute at her beloved daughter’s funeral service at Gurudwara Sri Sarbat Khalsa Sahib on Tuesday.
Ms Kaur who happened to be in Australia with her son, Harmeet Singh, didn’t know that a trip she had taken to spend quality time with her daughter and her young family would end up in such a tragedy.

Recalling how Ravneet had always wanted her to be a confident woman who could converse in English, Ms Kaur said, "There couldn’t be a more befitting way for her to bid farewell to you than a speech in English."
“I gave birth to Ravneet and raised her, but as she grew up, Ravneet guided me as a teacher at every step of my life. She encouraged me to take up challenges of life and got me as far as Australia, which I could never imagine.”

Paying his last respects, Ravneet’s inconsolable husband, Bhupinder Singh said his life was “clueless as he had lost his anchor,” while their young sons could be seen offering flowers to their mother’s coffin that moved everyone gathered to tears.
