A 40-year-old Indian man has been killed in a plane crash in Sydney’s south-west on Friday.

Emergency services were called just before 4:30 pm after a small plane crashed at Oakdale in an open area, six kilometres from the Oaks Airfield.

The man deceased in the crash, Amarinder Singh, was flying solo at the time of the incident.

Seven Network pictures from the scene show an ultra-light plane with its green and yellow wings twisted near debris.
Recreational Aviation Australia will investigate the crash.

“We will need to try to piece together those final moments and learn a little bit more about exactly what happened,” said Michael Linke of Recreational Aviation Australia.

Mr Singh’s parents in India told The Tribune that Amarinder had migrated to Australia 26 years ago and worked as a jail superintendent in Sydney. His wife works as a school teacher.

Amarinder’s parents live in Mohali in Punjab, and are flying to Australia to attend his last rites.
