Indian-origin store attendant’s terrifying moments captured on camera

An Indian-origin service station attendant held his nerves despite the terrifying experience of having a masked man armed with a machete demanding cash from him.

Raghu, the manager at a service station at Plenty Road, Whittlesea in Melbourne’s north had the armed intruder walk in a little after midnight on July 28.

The man approached Raghu who was manning the cash register at the service station, and demanded cash threatening him with the machete.

Raghu handed over a quantity of cash and then pressed a duress alarm.

The incident was captured on a surveillance camera in the store. Police have been told the man then exited the store heading north on Plenty Road.

Police are seeking assistance from the public and have released the images of the man they are seeking to speak to in relation to this incident.

At the time of the incident the man was wearing a grey balaclava, orange and black high visibility shirt and royal blue tracksuit pants.
