A 6-year-old Indian-origin girl has been hailed for her “incredible bravery” during an armed invasion of her father’s electronics store in New Zealand.
Sarah Patel stood up to an axe wielding intruder as he lunged towards an employee, trying to remove masked attacker grabbing his leg, The New Zealand Herald reported.
A CCTV video of the incident has gone viral, many describing the little Ms Patel as the “bravest six-year-old in New Zealand”.
Sarah’s father, Suhail Patel was surprised to see his daughter making her own attempt to save the store employee, 19-year-old Jordan.
“I asked her later what she was trying to do and she said she was trying to save Jordan.”
He is relieved that she wasn’t hurt during this.
Police later arrested five teenage boys in relation to the incident and are still looking for a sixth person.
