Indian women athletes are scripting history at the Rio Olympic games. After wrestler Sakshi Malik became the first woman wrestler to win an Olympic medal for the country, now shuttler PV Sindhu has created history by storming into the final of women’s singles Badminton.
Sindhu became the first Indian woman player to secure a berth in the final of ladies singles badminton after she defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-10.
She is now eyeing the Gold Medal, she told NDTV.
“I didn't take it easy at any point. I feel she played a good game, there were many rallies. The final will be my biggest match. Marin is a tough opponent and I will give my best."
Sindhu will play Crolina Martin for gold in the final.
To this tweet by Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra, Sindhu said she will try to make his wish come true.
Her family and friends in India were elated with her achievement.

Her coach P Gopichand said Sindhu's height and her big smashes made a big difference in this match.
