Kejriwal sacks minister after 'sex tape' surfaces

Arvind Kejriwal has sacked the Women and child development minister in Delhi government, Sandeep Kumar, after his "objectionable video" with two different women surfaced.

In a huge embarrassment for the Aam Aadmi Party, a cabinet minister in Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government has been caught in a sex tape.

The youngest minister in the Delhi government, Sandeep Kumar was removed just an hour after “objectionable” video footage involving him was made available to a TV news channel.

Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the sacking of the minister on twitter.

On Wednesday evening, ABP News received a CD which had intimate video footage and some photographs of Women and Child Development minister Sandeep Kumar  with two different women. The channel then sent the CD to Mr. Kejriwal for a comment.

Just half-an-hour later, Mr. Kejriwal sacked Sandeep Kumar from his ministerial position.

A nine-minute video on the CD allegedly shows Sandeep Kumar, 34, in what Aam Aadmi Party leaders described as "a compromising position with two women". It also had 11 photographs.

"AAP has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption, scandals... Ministers found taking bribes were removed immediately as soon as it was found. Action will be taken swiftly against any member irrespective of status or position,” Kejriwal’s deputy Manish Sisodia told reporters in Delhi on Wednesday.

Following the latest scandal, the opposition parties are gunning for the Aam Aadmi Party government in India’s national capital.

"Chief Minister Kejriwal must resign for burdening Delhi with the most morally corrupt cabinet. Three out of six ministers removed in last one year and dozens of MLAs booked," said BJP leader Vijendra Gupta.

Last year, Mr Kejriwal sacked food minister Asim Ahmed Khan, who was caught demanding bribe; law minister Jitender Tomar, accused of faking his college degree, resigned.

The party sacked its convener, Sucha Singh Chhotepur in Punjab- a state headed for election early next year- following a purported sting operation showing him demanding money for a party ticket.
