NZ car accident: Arshpreet’s body to be flown back to India, says friend

Arshpreet Kaur’s body will be flown to India, her close friends Rabinder and Joban Sidhu have said. Arshpreet and two others died and another critically injured in a horrific crash on the Desert Road, a notorious stretch of road on State Highway One, in north island of New Zealand on 18th July.

Arshdeep kaur hailed from village Chuharchakk in Moga/Faridkot Dist of Punjab. She was raised by her grandparents and was planning to file for their visa from her first salary.

New Zealand police said the car which went through horrific crash was carrying four people, out of which three were Indian nationals in their twenties.

“Arshpreet Kaur’s funeral cost will mostly be covered by NZ’s Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and any additional funeral expenses will be covered by close friends to send her body to her parents in India, as soon as possible.” said her close friends Rabinder and Joban Sidhu.https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Frabbisidhu1%2Fposts%2F505075606356391&width=500

“ਅਰਸ਼ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੰਡ ਭੇਜਣ ਦਾ ਲਗਭੱਗ ਸਾਰਾ ਖਰਚਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ..ਕੁਝ ACC ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੋਸਤਾ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ” said Rabinder Sidhu in a social media post. 

The family and friends have also made humble request to contribute towards collecting the funds to support her family.

Friends have also set a 'Give A Little' fund to help accident victim's family. An amount of $600 has been raised in first few hours of setting this online appeal.
