Taxi driver allegedly stabbed with a syringe

A woman who evaded paying her fare has allegedly stabbed a taxi driver with a syringe. 

According to the police, the taxi driver picked up a woman passenger from Doveton on Sunday. The woman asked to be driven to Dandenong Railway Station, Southeast of Melbourne.

On reaching her destination, she allegedly refused to pay the fare.

Following a verbal altercation over the fare, the woman stabbed the 48-year-old driver in the hand with a syringe, police say.

The Dandenong North driver followed the woman to the railway station lift where the woman again produced the syringe.

The woman then boarded a city-bound train at 9.09pm.

The woman is described to be 20-30-years-old, Caucasian with a thin build and bright orange hair.

The woman had a tattoo on her right upper arm.

The woman's CCTV footage has been released.
