India drew with Afghanistan in the final Super Four match of the Asia Cup in a nail-biting contest that kept cricket fans of both the countries on the edge until the finish.
The match ended up in a thrilling tie as India failed to chase down the target of 253 in the 50 overs with just one ball to spare.
While spectators left the stadium and the others switched off their TV sets after the match, one little kid stood lost and dejected in Dubai’s International stadium with tears rolling down his cheeks, not knowing that the cameras were recording his meltdown.
Dressed in the Indian team's jersey, the young fan was inconsolable even after repeated assurances from his father- a testimony of what cricket really means to Indians.
It took Afghanistan players- Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shahzad several selfies and a phone call from Indian pacer Bhuvnesh Kumar to pacify the little fan.
By the time the young fan made it home, he had already become a sensation on social media.
Moved by his passion, Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh shared his screen grab on Twitter, saying “don’t you worry son, India will win the finals.”
Soon, Twitter was abuzz with the consolatory messages for the heartbroken fan- with many calling it the “cutest” moment for Indian cricket.

The Indian team which has already qualified for the finals will play against the winners of the match between Bangladesh and Pakistan on Friday.
