Nominations have opened for the 2026 Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence (ASAE), a national initiative recognising the social, economic and cultural contributions of Sikh Australians. Announcing the launch, Attorney-General Michelle Rowland MP said the awards play an important role in acknowledging individuals whose achievements and community service often go unnoticed.
The Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence, established by Sikh Youth Australia, are a national initiative recognising the contributions of Sikh Australians across business, community service, agriculture, arts and culture, sport, and other sectors.
Supported by SBS as a Platinum Sponsor, the awards celebrate excellence across eight categories while highlighting the Sikh values of leadership, seva (selfless service), and community contribution.
Speaking to SBS Punjabi, Australian Sikh Awards for Excellence volunteer, Mahendra Singh Khalsa said nominations for the 2026 awards will remain open until 14 June.
"The awards recognise the achievements and community contributions of Sikh Australians across eight prominent categories, with the winners to be announced at a gala awards dinner in Sydney on 29 August 2026," he said.
