Despite Punjab government's warning on stubble burn, state farmers are continuing with the traditional process of paddy straw.

The state government will stop giving out subsidies to farmers who burn crop residue, while farmers are saying that burning the stubble is the only way , otherwise the government should pay Rs. 6,000 per acre to use extra labour to remove straw manually.

On the other hand farmer leaders warned that the government would have to face a tough time if the farmers were penalised.
