Keshav Dhawan, who began his career as a dentist in Amritsar, has been named the Australian Association of Practice Management's Practice Manager of the Year. Due to financial challenges, Keshav says he couldn't continue his dentistry career after migrating to Australia, but he rebuilt his professional path in healthcare management and now leads three medical clinics in Melbourne. He also serves as a member of the AAPM Victoria State Committee and sits on the Advisory Board of the Western Victoria Primary Health Network.
Speaking to SBS Punjabi, Keshav Dhawan reflected on his migration journey, the challenges of restarting a career in a new country, and the support that helped him succeed. He says teamwork, guidance and community support have been central to his achievements, encouraging new migrants and young Punjabis to pursue their goals and make the most of opportunities in Australia.
