Middle East or West Asia: What is the right term and why?

Rising tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States in the Middle East have not only heightened security concerns but are also beginning to impact the global economy. Amid this, a debate has also emerged, should this region be called the ‘Middle East’ or ‘West Asia’?
