Muhammad Qavi Khan was born in India's Badaun region of Uttar Pradesh in 1942 and migrated to Pakistan after the partition.

Mr Khan was an actor, director and screenwriter who started his career in 1952 with radio Pakistan and has worked in over 200 films.
