Single mothers and migrants: Measuring poverty in Australia

In December 2020, Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research released an in-depth report on poverty in Australia. Based on data from three censuses, the researchers examined the underlying correlations and fluctuations in poverty rates over time. Dr. Maxim Ananyev, one of the co-authors of the report, spoke to SBS Russian about the report and the parameters for defining poverty.
