Rugby is not just a Game.

For the young Samoan women in the NSW Under-18's team, rugby is more than just a game they want to win.

Every one of the players in the NSW Samoan Under-18's team would choose to play for Manusina (the Samoan women's national rugby union team) instead of the Jillaroos (the Australian women's rugby union team).

They say that given the chance, they would represent the country of their heritage instead of their country of birth.
For these young rugby players, being part of the team with other young women of the same background gives them a stronger sense of belonging and purpose.

The Samoan Juniors Rugby program also teaches young rugby players (boys and girls) aspects of Samoan culture and language. They train and play rugby together, and they also learn traditional Samoan dances and the language.
