ஓர் இந்திய உணவகத்தின் உரிமையாளர் இந்திய சமையல்காரரை சுரண்டல் செய்தமை, பின்னர் ஒரு text message மூலம் அப்பணியாளரை பணிநீக்கம் செய்தமை போன்றவற்றுக்காக கடுமையாகத் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டுளார்.
Perth நகரிலுள்ள The Curry Tree இந்திய உணவகத்தின் உரிமையாளரான Simon Peter Mackenzie என்பவருக்கே $34,815 அபராதமும், நான்கு மாதங்களுக்கு ஊதியம் செலுத்தாமைக்காக கூடுதல் $174,075 அபராதமும் விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
2012ம் ஆண்டில் ஒரு சமையல்காரராக The Curry Tree உணவகத்தில் பணியாற்றத்தொடங்கிய குமாருக்கு, முதல் வாரம் $200 டொலர்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டது. பின்னர் வாரம் 6 நாட்கள் படி 4 மாதங்கள் பணியாற்றிய அவருக்கு எவ்வித கொடுப்பனவும் வழங்கப்படவில்லை.
The Curry Tree உணவகமானது தன்னை work visa வில் sponsor செய்யும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையில் அவர் இதுபற்றி எதுவித முறைப்பாடுகளும் செய்யவில்லை. Work visa கிடைத்தால் தான் நீண்ட நாட்கள் ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் தங்க வழி கிடைக்கும் என்ற ஒரு கனவில் தான் அவற்றைப் பொருட்படுத்தவில்லை என குமார் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
இது இவ்வாறிருக்க, ஒருநாள் சுகயீனம் காரணமாக குமாரினால் வேலைக்குச் செல்ல முடியவில்லை. அதற்காக குமார் பணியிலிருந்து நீக்கப்படுவதாக text message மூலம் “dont come back” என குமாருக்கு முதலாளி தெரியப்படுத்தியுள்ளார். பின்னர் சில நிமிடங்களில் பின்வரும் செய்தியும் அனுப்பப்பட்டது:
“Dont expect .any sympathy,pls don’t my lawyer sue you for defamation of/mycharacter. Pls return key today”.
“If you dont answer i will ring the police and say you possession of my keys to my business and I want them bak. they will come to your house and arrest you for theft”.
இதன் பின்னரேயே குமார் சட்டத்தரணி ஒருவர் மூலமாக Fair Work Ombudsman இல் முறைப்பாடு செய்தார்.
