ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் செயற்கை முறைவழி கருத்தரித்தரிக்க வயது கட்டுப்பாட்டை அரசு விதிக்கவில்லை என்பதால் இப்படியான குழந்தை பெறும் போக்கு அதிகரிக்குமோ என்ற அச்சம் எழுந்துள்ளது. அப்படியே அரசு வயது வரம்பை நிர்ணயம் செய்தாலும் இந்த பெண்மணிகள் வெளிநாடு சென்று இப்படியான செயற்கை முறைவழி கருத்தரித்தரிக்கும் சிகிச்சையை மேற்கொள்ளும் வாய்ப்பு உண்டு என்று மருத்துவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

A Victorian reproduction specialist says there is no legal barrier to stop IVF treatment for older women, after a 62-year-old gave birth in Melbourne.In a statement released on Wednesday, Frances Perry Private Hospital in Parkville said the woman was recuperating after the baby's birth.The woman's partner is reportedly 78 years old.
Melbourne's Monash IVF has a cut-off age of 53, but clinical director Dr Lynn Burmeister said that did not stop women from travelling overseas in their quest to become a parent."That is the natural age of menopause, so we've made a cut off at that point, but there's actually no legal cut off," she told 774 ABC Melbourne.
