சுமார் 3 வருடங்களாக நடைபெற்றுவந்த சட்டப் போரின்பின்னர் (legal battle) அந்தச் சிறுமிக்கு இந்த வெற்றி கிட்டியுள்ளது. வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் அச்சிறுமி அனுபவிக்கவுள்ள துன்பத்திற்கு ஒரு சிறிய அளவு நீதி கிடைத்துள்ளதாக இதுபற்றிப் பிரதம சட்டத்தரணி Tom Ballantyne கூறியுள்ளார். இப்போதுதான் அக்குழந்தையின் குடும்பம் நிம்மதியடைந்துள்ளதாக Asylum Seekers Project coordinator Sister Brigid Arthur தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
"The lead plaintiff has PTSD.* She also suffered some significant dental issues. Mostly, it's been about the traumatic experiences that they had on Christmas Island and the role that conditions in detention played in that."
A-S எனப் புனைபெயரால் அழைக்கப்படும் அச்சிறுமி தொடர் சிகிச்சை பெறவேண்டும்.

"The evidence is there, that detention harms people. It causes, in some cases, irreparable harm and, in other cases, harm that people will carry for life. We do not believe detention is necessary."
