Centrelinkயிடம் பொய் சொன்னால் என்ன நடக்கும்?

Centrelink உதவிபெறும் நோக்கில் தெரிந்தோ தெரியாமலோ பொய் சொன்னால் அதை Centrelink கண்டுபிடிக்க இயலுமா?

Centrelink உதவிபெறுகின்றவர்கள் தங்களது வருமானம் குறித்து பொய் சொன்னாலோ அல்லது தாங்கள் வேலை இல்லாமலிருப்பதாக பொய் சொன்னாலோ அல்லது மனைவியிடமிருந்து அல்லது கணவரிடமிருந்து பிரிந்து வாழ்கிறேன் என்று பொய் சொன்னாலோ Centrelink அதை கண்டுபிடிப்பது எளிதான காரியமல்ல என்று சிலர் நம்பக்கூடும்.ஆனால் பொய் சொல்லி அரசிடமிருந்து (Centrelinkயிடமிருந்து) நிதி உதவி அல்லது கொடுப்பனவு பெற்றால் அப்படி ஏமாற்றும் நபரைக் கண்டுபிடிக்க Centrelink நிறுவனம் பல யுக்திகளை கையாள்கிறது.

Taskforce Integrity எனும் தனிப் பிரிவை அமைத்து உளவறியும் வேலையில் ஈடுபட்டுவருகிறது; அத்தோடு தனியார் உளவு அமைப்பிடமும் சில  பணியை ஒப்படைகிறது; இப்போது Centrelink customers (பயனாளர்கள்) பயன்படுத்தும் Facebook, Twitter போன்ற சமூக ஊடகங்களை நோட்டம்விட்டு அவரின் உண்மையான பின்னணியைத் தெரிந்துகொள்கிறது.

உதாரணமாக வேலை இல்லை என்று சொல்லி கொடுப்பனவு பெற்றுவரும் ஒருவர், “அப்பாடா சனி ஞாயிறு வந்தது கொஞ்சம் ஓய்வேடுக்கப்போகிறேன்” என்று முகநூலில் எழுதினால், “ஆஹா இவரு வேலை செய்றாரா” என்று எமாற்றுக்காரரின் நிஜ முகத்தை அறிந்துகொள்கிறது Centrelink. அல்லது “நான் மனைவியிடமிருந்து பிரிந்து வாழ்கிறேன்” என்று சொல்லி இருவரும் தனித் தனியே கொடுப்பனவு பெற்றுவிட்டு இணைந்து புகைப்படமெடுத்து அல்லது செல்பி எடுத்துக்கொண்டு அதை முகநூலில் பதிவிட்டால்......அவர்கள் வசமாக மாட்ட அதைவிட வேறு ஆதாரம் தேவையா? இப்படிப் போகிறது Centrelinkஇன் கண்கொத்திப்பாம்பு கண்காணிப்பு நடவடிக்கைகள்.

பொய் சொல்லி கொடுப்பனவு பெற்றால் அந்த தொகையை திரும்ப வசூலிக்க அல்லது அபராதத்துடன் திரும்பபெற அல்லது தண்டனை பெற்றுத்தர என்று பல வழிமுறைகளை Centrelink கையாள்கிறது.      

Centrelink investigators are trawling the social media accounts of people on welfare to catch out fraudsters, the federal government has confirmed. Contractors employed by Centrelink to scan the Facebook pages, Twitter streams and eBay accounts of customers have dredged up more than $2 million in fraud the Daily Telegraph reported.  The operations could nab a fraudster via a guileless 'Thank God It's Friday' Facebook post at the end of a work week from a recipient of unemployment benefits, or perhaps an uninhibited single posting voraciously about their solo life while claiming benefits for dependents they don't have.

According to the Minister for Humans Services, Stuart Robert, the operations have lead to 3,072 compliance reviews,1,888 cases of overpayment and five arrests on warrants for failing to attend court for welfare fraud offences. "While most people receiving welfare payments are honest and do the right thing, there is a small segment of the community who still think it is okay to cheat the system," Mr Robert said in a statement on Wednesday."Taskforce Integrity will continue to collaborate with its partner agencies to meet the challenges posed by welfare fraud and ensure those individuals who deliberately defraud the system are caught," he said.
