இந்தியாவில் புதிதாக கடவுச்சீட்டு அல்லது பாஸ்போர்ட் எடுக்க அல்லது காலாவதியான பாஸ்போர்ட்டை புதுப்பிக்க போலீசார் விசாரித்து Police Verification எனப்படும் அறிக்கை தரவேண்டும். இதனால் பாஸ்போர்ட் பெறுவது தாமதமாகிறது என்ற புகார் உள்ளது. எனவே இனிமேல், Aadhar, Voter ID and PAN Card என இந்த ஆவணப் பிரதிகள் அளித்தால் பாஸ்போர்ட் வழங்கப்படும் என்று இந்திய வெளியுறவுத் துறை அமைச்சர் சுஷ்மா ஸ்வராஜ் அறிவித்தார். பாஸ்போர்ட் அளித்தபின் போலீசார் இந்த “Police Verification” நடவடிக்கையை மேற்கொள்வர் என்று அமைச்சர் சுஷ்மா ஸ்வராஜ் டுவிட்டர் வழி அறிவித்துள்ளார்.
No more Police Verification required
Reforms are finally being brought to the long, tedious process of acquiring and renewing passports in India.In a series of tweets, India’s External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj has announced change in policies pertaining to the passport and it's police verification.
As per the new reforms brought in, getting your passport is going to take less than a week as police verification will be done after you get the passport and not before.
Sushma Swaraj tweeted, "If you submit an application with copies of Aadhar, Voter ID and PAN Card with an affidavit of no criminal case, we will issue the Passport. The police verification will be done later. You can choose any appointment date from the earliest five available dates for Passport related services."
The police verification process will now be carried out after the applicant acquires the passport. Moreover, these services are being launched with an app called 'Passport Police App' for speedy submission of Police Verification (PV).
