இந்த திட்டத்தின் அடிப்படையில் ஆஸ்திரேலிய அரசின் இன்டர்நெட் திட்டமான NBN திட்டத்தின் கீழ் தரப்படும் இன்டர்நெட் வேகத்தைவிட நூறு மடங்கு அதிக வேகத்தில் இன்டர்நெட் திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்தவும், இணையம் பாதுகாப்பாக இயங்க அதிக கவனம் செலுத்துவதுமே அடலைட் நகரின் திட்டம் என்றும் இந்நகர மேயர் - Lord Mayor Martin Haese கூறியுள்ளார்.
Digital agency director Damien Mair says he sees many benefits to running a mid-sized business in Adelaide compared to cities on the eastern seaboard.
Among them, he says, are lower running costs and a slower rate of staff turnover.
"We've been able to build a strong, stable team in this environment," he says about his agency Fusion, which creates apps and webpages for clients.
But there is one aspect to running a business in Adelaide that he would like to see improved.
“We could potentially grow our business by up to 40 per cent if we had faster internet connectivity,” he says.
He says he's hoping this may soon improve.
The City of Adelaide has unveiled a plan to install a fast data network across the city within the next 12 months.
Lord Mayor Martin Haese says the plan would offer businesses the chance to access data speeds 100 times faster than those offered by the NBN, at a cost.
It would be offered alongside the national broadband network and complement a state government plan to install fast data networks to a number of dedicated business centres across the city.
“We’re answering three problems,” he says. “Data speed, bandwidth and data security.”
