Know what to do if an emergency vehicle is coming through under lights and sirens?
1. Do not panic;
2. Slow down (but do not brake rapidly);
3. Use your indicators;
4. Be aware of other motorists;
5. Do not move suddenly or move into the path of the emergency
vehicle;
6. Move as far to the left of the road as you can and come to a stop;
7. If you cannot move out of the path safely, keep moving forward
until it’s safe to move over;
8. You are required to abide by road rules at all times.
Remember - seconds count in an emergency
If an emergency vehicle is approaching and is sounding an alarm or showing flashing lights, you must move to the left and out of the path of the vehicle as soon as you can do so safely.
