Ipswich shopping centre கார் நிறுத்துமிடப்பகுதியில் நிறுத்திவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த கார் ஒன்றினுள் கடுமையான காயம் ஏற்படுவதற்கான திறன் கொண்ட வெடிகருவி கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
Redbank Plaza shopping centre யிலேயே இவ்வெடி கருவி கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டு செயலிழக்கவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இன்று காலை குறித்த கார் நிறுத்துமிடப்பகுதியில் சந்தேகத்துக்கிடமான முறையில் இருவர் சென்றுவந்ததை CCTV யில் அவதானித்த Ipswich City Council ஊழியர் பொலிஸாருக்குத் தகவல் அளித்ததைத் தொடர்ந்தே போலீசாருடன் குண்டுசெயலிழக்கவைக்கும் (bomb squad) படையினரும் சென்று அக்குறித்த இடத்திலுள்ளவர்களை பாதுகாப்பாக அப்புறப்படுத்தி அக்காரினிலுள்ள வெடி கருவியை செயலிழக்க வைத்துள்ளனர்.
காரிலிருந்து அவ்வெடிகருவியானது காகித அட்டைப் பெட்டியொன்றினுள் மறைத்துவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததாக Senior Sergeant Gareth James தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
குறித்த சம்பவத்துடன் தொடர்புடையதாக நம்பப்படும் ஒரு ஆணும் பெண்ணும் என இருவர் கைதுசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார். இவர்கள் நாளை Ipswich Magistrates Court இல் ஆஜர்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளனர்.
QLD உள்ள மாநில Gold Coast. இல் வருகிற புதன் பொதுநலவாய அமைப்பு நாடுகளின் விளையாட்டுப்போட்டி ஆரம்பமாகவுள்ள நிலையில் இச்சம்பவம் நடைபெற்றுள்ளதால் பாதுகாப்பு உச்ச நிலைக்கு உஷார்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
Police have dismantled a crude hand-made bomb "capable of causing serious injury" that was found in a car at Redbank Plaza shopping centre.
The device was detected after Ipswich City Council staff monitoring CCTV footage early on Monday morning spotted two people acting suspiciously in the carpark.
The bomb squad was called in and a 100-metre exclusion zone put in place around the car.
Senior Sergeant Gareth James said the device was hidden inside a cardboard box.
"At this stage all I can say is it was a fairly large glass jar which contained a substance," he said.
"Not fertiliser, there was a liquid in it of an explosive nature which also had a few other components which I won't go into."

Asked by journalists if there was a detonator, he said: "I will not say at this stage."
But he admitted it was more advanced than a Molotov cocktail.
"This was not a hoax," he said.
A man and a woman have been arrested and Senior Sergeant James said he expected they would appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court Tuesday morning.
Police said the car the accused people were in was either stolen or obtained through fraud.
Police are on high alert ahead of the Commonwealth Games which begin on Wednesday on the Gold Coast.
