துட்டு இருந்தால் விமான நிலையத்தில் காத்திருக்கத் தேவையில்லை!

ஆஸ்திரேலியாவில் இப்போது விமானத்தில் பயணிக்கும் யாரும் அதிகம் காசு கொடுத்தால் Business Class, First Class என்று பறக்கலாமே தவிர, விமான நிலையத்தின் சேவை எல்லோருக்கும் பொதுவானதே. ஆனால் இனி சிட்னி, மெல்பன், பெர்த் நகரங்களில் இயங்கும் விமான நிலையங்களில் Premium முறையை அரசு அறிமுகம் செய்ய முடிவு செய்துள்ளது. துட்டு கட்டினால் ஓகே. அதாவது, பயணிகள் காசு அதிகம் செலுத்தினால் பயணிகள் சீட்டு பெறுவதற்கும் பல நிமிடங்கள் காத்திருக்காமலும், குடிவரவுத்துறை ஒப்புதல் பெரும் காத்திருக்கும் வரிசையில் பல நிமிடங்கள் காத்திருக்காமலும், பொருட்களை பரிசோதனையிடும் இடத்தில் காத்திருக்காமலும் என்று ஒரு VIP அளவுக்கு சேவையை அறிமுகம் செய்ய அரசு திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது. இந்த சேவையைப் பெற ஒரு பயனை எவ்வளவு காசு அதிகம் செலுத்த வேண்டியிருக்கும் என்பதை அரசு இதுவரை முடிவு செய்யவில்லை.  Premium முறையை அரசு அறிமுகம் செய்வதால் வெளிநாட்டுப் பயணிகள் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரிக்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.   

A plan to allow wealthy airline passengers to avoid long airport queues will bring more visitors to Australia, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton says. The government announced the potentially divisive measure in Tuesday's federal budget. Plane passengers would be offered a "premium" experience at airports which Fairfax Media understands may include a fast-trackedpassage through border clearance, or even separate terminals.

It would initially operate at Sydney, Perth and Melbourne airports. Official data shows that airport queue delays topped the list of complaints to customs authorities last financial year. Wait times of 90 minutes or more have recently been reported at airports around Australia, including in February this year when a Virgin Airlines check-in glitch left passengers reporting queues flowing out the doors at airports.

Airport operators would pay the government a fee for the premium service, the cost of which may be passed on to airlines or passengers. The government did not say how much revenue would be raised from the measure, citing commercial confidentiality. It would add to existing premium security lanes currently provided to business and first-class travellers at some Australian airports. A spokeswoman for Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said "premium traveller facilitation services" could increase visitor numbers to Australia.
