வலுவான பெண் பிரதிநிதித்துவத்துடன் அமைச்சுப் பதவிகள் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டு அவர்கள் தத்தமது பதவிகளையும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டுள்ளனர். Government Houseஇல் நடைபெற்ற இப்பதவிப்பிரமாண நிகழ்வில் 13 அமைச்சர்கள் பெண்கள் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கதாகும்.

Tanya Plibersek, Catherine King, Clare O'Neil மற்றும் Michelle Rowland ஆகியோர் அமைச்சர்களாக நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பெண்களில் அடங்குகின்றனர். அத்துடன் பன்முகத்தன்மையை மையமாகக் கொண்டுள்ள புதிய அமைச்சரவையில் Industry and Science - தொழிற்துறை மற்றும் அறிவியல் அமைச்சராக இஸ்லாமியப் பின்னணி கொண்ட Ed Husic பதவியேற்றுக்கொண்டார். இஸ்லாமியப் பின்னணி கொண்ட ஒருவர் Cabinet அந்தஸ்துள்ள அமைச்சராவது இதுவே முதல்முறை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கதாகும். மேலும் early childhood education and youth - ஆரம்பக்கல்வி மற்றும் இளைஞர் விவகாரங்களுக்கான அமைச்சராக Anne Aly பதவியேற்றுள்ளார். இவர் இஸ்லாமியப் பின்னணி கொண்ட முதலாவது பெண் அமைச்சர் என்ற பெருமையைப் பெற்றுள்ளார்.

தெற்கு NSW தொகுதியான Eden-Monaroவின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் Kristy McBain, Regional Development - பிராந்திய வளர்ச்சிக்கான அமைச்சராக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். சுகாதாரம் மற்றும் முதியோர் பராமரிப்பு அமைச்சராக மார்க் பட்லர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். NDIS எனப்படும் National Disability Insurance Scheme அமைச்சராக Bill Shorten தெரிவுசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார். Richard Marles, துணைப் பிரதமர் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சராகவும், Mark Dreyfus, Attorney-General ஆகவும் பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளனர்.

நாட்டின் 31வது பிரதமராகப்  பதவியேற்ற பின்னரான முதலாவது கட்சிக் கூட்டத்தினைப் பிரதமர் Anthony Albanese நடத்தினார். அவரது தேர்தல் வெற்றி உரையைப் போலவே, ஒழுக்கம், கட்சி ஒற்றுமை மற்றும் தனித்துவம் ஆகியவற்றின் முக்கியத்துவம் பிரதமரின் தலைமை உரையின் மையமாக இருந்தது. 

We need to change the way that politics works in this country. We need to be more inclusive, we need to be prepared to reach out, we need to be prepared to engage on those issues. We can do that in this parliament. My objective is to not keep this room as it is, my objective is to grow.

பிரதமராகப் பதவியேற்றதும் Quad கூட்டத்துக்காக தனது ஜப்பான் பயணம் மற்றும் Penny Wongஇன் சாலமன் தீவுகளுக்கான பயணங்கள் பற்றித் தனது உரையில் பிரதமர் முன்னிலைப்படுத்தினார்.

We changed the statement that was made and they very much welcomed our changed position on climate change. We’re joining again the global effort which we needed to do after nine wasted years. புதிய அரசானது குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பொருளாதார சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்வதாகக் கருவூலக்காப்பாளர் Treasurer Jim Chalmers தெரிவித்தார். தேசிய நிதிநிலையில் முன்னைய அரசானது பாரிய முரண்பாடுகளை விட்டுவிட்டனர் என்றும் அதனைச் சரிசெய்வதற்குப்   பல ஆண்டுகள் ஆகும் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்.
