வாரத்துக்கு $1000 டாலர்கள் ஊதியம், இலவச விடுதி, மின்சாரம் ஆகியவை அடங்கலான ஒரு வேலைவாய்ப்பு Cairns நகரில் வந்துள்ளது.
இந்த வேலைக்கான விளம்பரங்கள் பரவலாகப் பிரசுரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் எந்தவொரு ஆஸ்திரேலியரும் இந்த வேலைக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்கவில்லை என Couriermail செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. ஆனால் இந்தியா, மத்திய கிழக்கு மற்றும் பிலிப்பைன் ஆகிய நாடுகளிலிருந்து குடியேறிவந்தவர்கள் இதற்கு விண்ணப்பித்துள்ளார்கள்.
‘Senior Daily Farm Hand’ எனும் இத்தொழிலுக்கான விளம்பரம் Seek இணையத்தளம் மற்றும் The Cairns Post எனும் உள்ளூர் பத்திரிகைகளிலும் வெளிவந்துள்ளன.

“It's frustrating and makes you really angry,' Jane McGregor, wife of Malcolm told the Courier Mail.
“Malcolm works seven days a week...he only sees the kids for a couple of hours a week. We just need someone who could be Malcolm's 2IC so we can have a break,” Mrs McGregor was quoted saying.
However, it is not explained why the farm-owner wants to hire a local.
But it seems, in Cairns where the youth unemployment rate is 14.5 percent; the locals are not interested in the opportunity.
Local MP Warren Entsch told the Daily Mail he knows someone who rejected the job because the person was only getting $200 more than what he was receiving from the government as social support.
