உலகிலேயே முதல் தடவையாக, ஆஸ்திரேலிய மருத்துவர் ஒருவரால் முழு செயற்கை இதயம் பொருத்தப்பட்டு, டைட்டேனிய உலோகத்தாலான இதயத்துடன் ஒருவர் மருத்துவமனையை விட்டு வெளியேறி வரலாறு படைத்துள்ளார். இதய மாற்று அறுவை சிகிச்சை பெறுவதற்கு ஒரு நன்கொடையாளரின் இதயம் கிடைக்கும் வரை, இந்த நோயாளி 100 நாட்களுக்கும் மேலாக அந்த செயற்கை இதயத்துடன் வாழ்ந்துள்ளார். இது குறித்து, விக்டோரியா மாநிலத்தின் Austin Health இதய அறுவை சிகிச்சை நிபுணரும் இதய அறுவை சிகிச்சை இயக்குனரும் St John of God Geelong, Epworth Eastern மற்றும் Epworth Richmond மருத்துவமனைகளில் இதய அறுவை சிகிச்சை ஆலோசகராகவும் கடமையாற்றும் Dr சிவேன் சீவநாயகம் அவர்களிடம் குலசேகரம் சஞ்சயன் கேட்டறிந்து கொள்கிறார்.

Australian makes history by living with a Titanium heart

Total artificial heart was implanted by an Australian doctor on a patient who made history to be the first person in the world to leave hospital with a titanium heart. The patient lived with the device for more than 100 days before receiving a donor heart transplant.
