Ngawang Topchen, a resident of Melbourne has come to Australia 15 years ago. He was a Tibetan teacher and a writer in India but from the get-go he knew he’d have to venture into business to make a living in Australia for his family. After a number of trials and errors in start-up businesses, he now owns the "Wild Yak" restaurants based in Melbourne and Sydney. Topchen agrees that starting a small business comes with huge challenges and risks. However, he urges other Tibetans in Australia to face the fear of failure and at least give it their hundred per cent if they want to start their own businesses. He strongly believes that the Tibetans are equally capable of running successful businesses in Australia, where opportunities are plenty. Listen to the full interview.
