Nick Vickers has been involved in the Australian art industry for over 30 years when he established his first gallery through UNSW Art & Design in 1984. Nick Vickers, Artists4Ukraine exhibition curator and founder is introducing George Gittoes - Australian artist and a singer Helen Rose who are currently working in Ukraine.

Mr Gittoes is described simultaneously as a figurative painter, a modernist, a postmodernist, a social realist, a pop artist and an expressionist. His painting The Preacher, winner of the Blake Prize for Religious Art in 1995, was completed following his visit to Rwanda in 1995 with the Australian peacekeeping forces.

Australian filmmakers and artists George Gittoes and Hellen Rose have left their NSW south coast home for covering conflict in Kyiv.
