The official opening ceremony was held on Sunday evening. At the beginning of the event the guests were congratulated by First Lady of Ukraine Maryna Poroshenko, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klichko and Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest Jon Ola Sand. Winner of Eurovision 2016 Jamala, Oleh Skrypka, Druha Rika band and Winner of Eurovision 2004 Ruslana performed at the opening event, however, the journalists did not get to this part.Tthe semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be held at the International Exhibition Center on May 9 and 11 and the final - on May 13.
